Officials tell citizens to use caution on rivers

From the Traverse City Record Eagle comes this article about the sharp rise in water level of the Au Sable river: Officials tell citizens to use caution on rivers

The South Branch of the AuSable is up about 2½ feet and is flowing between 5 to 6 mph compared to its normal 3 to 4 mph flow. State officials can't regulate who can go out on the rivers, so they're advising tourists and livery owners to use discretion when planning a trip.
